Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, it is only possible to visit the exhibition from the outside, but that is only one of the reasons. The other, as the institution’s name suggests, is the shop window. A place of inclusion and exclusion at the same time, visible and yet visibly separated, perhaps that is what makes it so special, being so close to the object of desire and yet so far away.
The works on display are prints on paper that subtly push themselves to the fore, in front of the curtain as if in the spotlight as an encore.
But there is something strange about the scenery. The curtain is only a curtain at first glance, strictly speaking it is a curtain that gives a glimpse of the interior of the room. Funeral houses radiate a comparable coolness, through the signs on the outside we know what is happening inside, but what is happening inside remains hidden from us, this gap is filled by our own imagination.

Aufgrund von Covid-Einschränkungen ist es leider nur möglich die Ausstellung von außen zu besichtigen, das ist aber nur einer der Gründe. Der andere, wie der Name der Institution schon vermuten lässt, ist das Schaufenster. Ein Ort der inclusion und exclusion zugleich, sichtbar und doch sichtbar getrennt, vielleicht macht auch grade das den besonderen Reiz aus, dem Objekt der Begierde so nah zu sein und doch so fern.
Die ausgestellten Arbeiten sind Drucke auf Papier, die sich subtil in den Vordergrund drängen, vor den Vorhang wie zur Zugabe ins Scheinwerferlicht.
Doch hat die Szenerie etwas seltsames an sich. Der Vorhang ist nur auf den ersten Blick ein Vorhang, genau genommen handelt es sich um eine Gardine die einen Blick vom Inneren des Raumes erahnen lässt. Bestattungshäuser strahlen eine vergleichbare kühle aus, durch die Zeichen aussen wissen wir was im inneren passiert, die Vorgänge im Inneren bleiben uns jedoch verborgen, diese Lücke füllt die eigene Imagination.
